1. Recognition – sometimes!- you’ve got to ask the question and explore what level of recognition.  If their happy to share their story (which is what we’re covering in the final part of this series) you’ll want to know where.  For example some supporters are nervous about their name/story being shared on social media.  You’ll need to make sure you have the correct permissions, that can be fulfilled, in place too
2. Know that they can still provide for their loved ones
3. Know what their legacy will do
4. That they can change their minds
5. Know that your charity will exist by the time their legacy is realised
6. Option to restrict how the legacy is used (note that this is based on trust, the more they trust you the less likely they will restrict their gift)
7. Transparency from the charity
