Coaching for Legacy Fundraisers.

Coaching for your new recruit

Starting a new job is both exciting and daunting, and you’ll want your newest team member to enjoy their role while also delivering results. New starters bring lots of unknowns with them, so coaching can really help them to get up to speed much quicker.

Any new team member needs to absorb a lot of information, and coaching gives them the chance to take time out, reflect on their work, and adapt to their new role.

Coaching helps new starters identify areas of growth and strengths and to ultimately improve their performance. It empowers and encourages them to take responsibility and achieve their goals.

This is where I can help your newest recruit to quickly become effective in their role.

My programs typically last 3 to 6 months but can be extended as required.

Coaching Existing Team Members

If you have an existing team member that would be ideal to deliver aspects of the Legacy Strategy, I can help here too.

Why does a new Legacy fundraiser need a coach?

We know Legacies are a niche area, and that many things simply can’t be learned solely from a textbook. The problem with this is that there is a real risk of mistakes happening while losing time and money in the process.

The alternative is to have a coach; someone who can guide your team member through all aspects of Legacy Fundraising (including learning all the terminology) whilst the plan is still being delivered and results are being achieved.

What are the benefits to you?

You’re busy and may not have the time to develop the skills, experience and confidence in your new team member. This is especially important if Legacies is not your specialism.

What are the benefits to your team member?

There are a great number of benefits to having your team member coached.  These include:

  • They learn from an expert whilst having sector-wide experience and knowledge, through me.
  • They avoid pitfalls and mistakes.  As a professional coach I have tried and tested methods that save Charities time and money.
  • They feel that their personal and professional development is important to you and the Charity.
  • They are shown to quickly identify opportunities, areas of growth and their strengths to improve performance and results.
  • They feel empowered and encouraged to take responsibility for their work and better achieve their goals.
  • They feel a greater sense of commitment and dedication to their role and Charity.
Why am I the ideal coach for your team member?

Ultimately, I have been where your new team member has been. I can see things from both perspectives and know how challenging this can all be. I have been coaching and mentoring on a professional level since 2019.

My coachees find that fortnightly sessions over a 3–6-month period is sufficient time for them to achieve the knowledge, confidence, and problem-solving skills they need to really excel in their roles.

Testimonials

“I’ve been able to plan and prepare better by discussing my thoughts and ideas with you. I feel motivated and inspired to succeed and I’ve achieved a whole new set of skills from attending regular sessions with you.Your guidance and input has been a valuable avenue of support and without your help it would have taken me far longer to get to grips with legacies, especially in the middle of a pandemic while I’ve been learning my new role remotely.”  Sarah at Royal Museums Greenwich
